Nothing to Disclose
Sometimes when you're doing the background of a complex nail art manicure, it's a pretty gosh darn cool manicure all on its lonesome. Today is a great example of that idea! I did the leaves/foliage as the background of a floral manicure and thought it was a beautiful composition with the colors and polish finishes as-is. Check 'em out!
Spring to Summer Floral Neon + Pastel manicure which is inspired by this grungy floral image by nopromises-stock on DeviantArt. I didn't have a polish quite the color of the leaves in the inspo image, but I was quite happy with the green polish I did use in the end :)
The PolishesMy base color is two coats of China Glaze Light As Air - a greyed out pinky-lavender creme. I love this polish; actually I love ALL of the polishes from this collection.
For my foliage I used a small round art paint brush [I get my brushes at Micahels' and usually trim them down to the sizes I want] and China Glaze Agro from the Hunger Games Collection. Doing this part was fun and easy going because it was very abstracted and gestural.
I loved the contrast between the creme base and the almost chameleon-like quality of Agro when it was in thin strokes; it changed from a darker olive green to a much lighter, grassy green in the sunlight.
Happy hump day! Hope you're having an excellent week.
