Press SampleMy base color for this mani is 3 coats of Lepidoptera, a rather moody blue-green shimmery polish that I got to choose the ingredients for on Nayll.com. It's not quite a duochrome but it does have a flash of intense green shimmer at certain angles (and especially when layered, you'll see that soon in the swatch post!). Then I used black acrylic paint for the veins of the butterfly wings and Zoya Purity for the white dots.
Hello my sweet little dumplings - today I have something fun to show you! Recently I had the opportunity to craft some custom polishes with up and coming indie brand Nayll Polish on their website and let me tell you it is so fun you guise. One of my custom polishes is called Lepidoptera which is the scientific insect order for moths and butterflies. And of course to go along with the polish name I finally did my first freehand butterfly nail art! Check it out!
Butterfly nail art is definitely not an original idea, but I hadn't tackled it yet and I felt like there was no better opportunity than with this polish! I Google'd around a little bit and used different photos as a guide. I also definitely maybe probably over-did the white dots a little bit? I thought these were sort of meh because the line work seemed a little not-so-butterfly-ish but they went over very well at work so they must have looked OK!
For more Nayll Polish check them out on Nayll.com, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram [you should definitely follow her on IG because the before & after snaps are SO FUN to see and totally addictive]
Do you like my custom polish Lepidoptera?! Check back soon and I'll have approx. 243095u35u swatch photos of both this polish and some other custom Nayll creations :D
