The Digit-al Dozen: Chain Mail Nails

 Nothing to Disclose

Hello all! Hope you're enjoying this month's Digit-al Dozen theme of 'metal' so far! I think this was definitely another one of those themes that seemed very intimidating at first, but all of the other DDers have done such a brilliant job so far (don't forget to check out the other manicures at the end of the post)! Today I have a subtle stamping mani inspired by Sunday's episode of Game of Thrones.

The Design

Don't worry! I won't give away any spoilers, I'll just say that this recent episode was entirely centered around the Wall and the brothers of the Night's Watch who have 'taken the black'. As any person in Westeros that might possibly fight should, the brothers wear chain mail thus a great inspiration for the theme of 'metal'. I really like how much depth there is with this manicure; the pattern sort of shifts around when I move my nails.

The Polishes

This manicure only needed three polishes! That feels like so few!! I used Cult Nails Fetish as my base color; it is a 'rubbery' leather finish (waxy, not totally matte) and it is a ONE COATER! Then I did very light dry brush strokes of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Gunmetal on all my nails to give them a little texture and interest. Finally I stamped a chain mail like image from my Bundle Monster BM-203 plate with a mix of Sally Hansen Gunmetal and Essie No Place Like Chrome. I wanted silver for the highlight of the chain mail BUT I didn't want it to be too stark, so mixing these two polishes before stamping worked out perfectly!

Now check out the other designs for today below!
