The Digit-al Dozen: Whatever! This 90s Skittle Set is DA BOMB!

 Nothing to Disclose

Whoop here it is! Today is 90s day on the blog since we're doing the theme of 'decades' for the Digit-al Dozen this week. I started the week out with some art deco nails inspired by the 1930s (see them here), then took you back to the 1950s on Tuesday when red nail polish was all the rage (see them here), and yesterday we got groovy with some freehand flower power nails (see them here). I was a little kid in the 90s and I definitely grew up with a massive collection of Beanie Babies, Spice Girls, Dunk-a-Roos, Goosebumps choose your own adventure stories, etc. Check out my 90s nails!

The Design

Another skittle set today! I feel like skittles are so perfect for doing decade nail art because you can pick important cultural images and put each one on a nail (no duh!). I picked some things that I thought were both important to me personally as well as definitive for the decade in general. From pinkie to thumb I did: a yin-yang, like the ones that can hang from your super cool tattoo choker necklace from the vending machine, a Tamagatchi (I totally had one!), Nirvana, the quintessential yellow plaid pattern from Clueless (as if!) and the very important Ty Beanie Babies tag on my thumb (be careful not to cut it off since it'll be worth more that way!!).

The Polishes

Not too many different polishes in this skittle set. My base color on pinkie and ring was 2 coats of Zoya Purity. My middle nail is 2 coats of Zoya Raven with the Nirvana logo done in Revlon Electric. My pointer got 2 coats of Revlon Electric to match Cher Horowitz's slammin' yellow plaid outfit. My thumb nail got 1 coat of Cult Nails Mazo before I did the Ty logo with Zoya Sooki and Barry M Gold Foil. All the other design bits were done with Zoya Purity, Zoya Raven, and acrylic paints on the Tamagotchi character (I picked the one that I got most often ahaha).
