Hello my sweets! Today I have a review with swatches of one of Rimmel London's Moisture Renew Lipsticks in the shade 360 'As You Want Victoria'. If you're a fan of moisturizing, glossy, rich color lipsticks at a great drugstore price you should check out these new and improved Moisture Renew lippies :)
PIGMENTATION & ColorThis particular shade - As You Want Victoria- is VERY pigmented i.e. one-swipe opaque! It’s actually so pigmented it’s a little hard to apply easily because the creamy formula can skip and slide all over without a lip brush to perfect the edges. Color seems to be between a red and a fuchsia for me - sometimes As You Want Victoria looks red, sometimes pink.
Finish, TEXTURE & Lasting PowerVery creamy, rich formula with a glossy shine when freshly applied; no shimmer, just glossy. It does seem to wear down to more of a satin as time goes on. This lipstick looks great after 2 hours and stays pretty well up to 4 hours but gets obliterated if I've had anything to eat or drink because the product transfers to everything. As You Want Victoria does stain, which some people find advantageous and others dislike. Sadly it does wear away in the dreaded 'ring of color' because the creamy formula lends itself to transfer. Sometimes when I wear this lipstick I get feathering and sometimes I don't and I'm not sure why (especially weird because this is the only product I can think of that has feathered on me ever).
SCENT & TasteThe Rimmel London Moisture Renew lipstick has a strong powdery floral scent. Not my personal fave as I’m more of a fan of vanilla or fruity scents for lip products. Thankfully I don't notice the scent once it's applied and it doesn't give me a headache at all (as some artificially scented things do). Also important and lovely is that there is NO taste as far as I can tell! Yay! Nothing worse than a bitter tasting lipstick!
Sometimes this lipstick looks more red on me (above) and sometimes more pink-fuchsia (below). All photos taken in indirect sunlight at different times of the day.

PACKAGINGAs you can see from the photos the newly released Rimmel London Moisture Renew lipstick has a sheer plastic purple tube and silver bullet. The new packaging for the re-designed Moisture Renew lippies is much more modern and luxe compared to the previous packaging (which was an all plastic case with a metallic finish). Two things that I really like about this packaging are: 1) the lid stays on nice and securely AND 2) that the lipstick retracts all the way down inside the case so that the bullet of the lipstick doesn’t get nicked when you are putting the lid portion back on!!
LIKES- HOLY CRAP COLORFUL! This is a super opaque, vivid color
- Finish stays glossy after 2 hours
- LOVE that the bullet retracts into the packaging! Especially important to me with such a creamy, colorful product that would be messy if the lid nicked the bullet
- You can wear this color as a light stain or full on as a glossy lipstick
DISLIKES- Scent is not my favorite (but luckily it doesn't last long)
- Challenge to apply since the formula can slip if applied straight from the tube
- Glossy formula is not super long lasting
- Transfers, and wears away in a 'ring of color' if I want to stay hydrated
- Feathers on me occasionally
OVERALL (TL;DR)I like the rich, glossy finish of Rimmel London's new and improved Moisture Renew Lipstick because of its sheen. And I like the color of As You Want Victoria because it is unique to my current collection of lip colors since it's a red-pink instead of a blue-based hot pink. However I don't really love this bright color + this formula (I like it but I don't love it). For me personally I prefer my super vibrant lipsticks to be in a formula that doesn't require as much attention or touch ups through out the day. I think I would love this formula in a less dramatic shade, though, because I do love how glossy the finish looks when I first put it on. A MLBB shade in this formula that I could just throw on and not worry about staining or wearing away in a circle would be amazeballs!!
BEST FOR: Beauties that prefer a glossier lip color (that lasts longer than a gloss)
TRY IF: You’re looking for a new drugstore lipstick that has a glossy finish and a nice price point!
SKIP IF: You only wear long-lasting lipsticks that don’t require touch ups through out the day.
Pricing & Availability
I received this as a press sample. Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick seems to retail between $3.49 and $7.00 for .14oz (4g) of product. Available wherever Rimmel is sold in your area at retailers like Ulta, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Target, Rite-Aid, Meijer, Kmart, etc.
Would I repurchase?
YES - in a different color! But no, I probably wouldn't repurchase As You Want Victoria.
Have you tried any of the new and improved Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipsticks? I’m planning to pick up a different shade to try soon!
