The Digit-al Dozen: Soft Subtle Mod Stamping

 Affiliate Link

Today I'm sticking with a more vintage color palette and taking inspiration from some reproduction textiles (see my inspiration photo here)! These nails aren't really "my style" but they are incredibly beautiful and I feel like that's what a challenge like The Digit-al Dozen is all about - pushing yourself to try new and creative ideas based on a theme. Check out all the details after the jump!

Sticking with my February theme *pats self on back* I used two new and untried polishes in this manicure! Floss Gloss Moon Baby is my base color, a light pale blue-grey creme. It's a fabulous color!! It has a lot of different undertones and seems really unique in my arsenal of polishes. The formula was easy to work with and took 2.5 coats to cover (I did a really thin layer the first time, then two slightly thicker//normal-for-me coats).

To add some depth I used a fan brush and did some strokes of Deborah Lippmann's Let it Snow! from her Christmas in the City trio box set. Let it Snow! is a pearly, white-toned silvery frost polish with glitter pieces. It adds just enough sparkle to Moon Baby to make it interesting before stamping! I got this trio at Gilt.com, which is my absolute favorite "deal" website because they ship crazy fast - and their packages reach me in Miami at a normal pace!! If you don't have a Gilt account yet and would like an invite, feel free to use my invite (this is an affiliate link) - and ps. this trio is still available there, but sold out at other retailers!

Finally, I stamped a weird mod blossomy pattern from Bundle Monster plate BM-206 on all nails using Konad white stamping polish. I think the end result is exactly what I was going for - a textile and/or wallpaper inspired manicure in soft, pretty vintage shades!

Now check out the other Digit-al Dozen nails for today below!

  5. I've been doing a lot of subtle stamping lately and I love the look of it - when the nails hit a certain light or angle it always looks so beautiful and delicate. This is stunning! I was just on the Floss Gloss website last night and talked myself out of buying anything - now I have to go back lol!
