I did an "abstract brushstroke" mani [originally from Gorgeois, tutorial here] and it's exactly what you think it is - layers of random brushstrokes overlapping until you get something gorgeous and abstract that you like. I used 3 tones of blue, 3 reds, and 3 white-greys. It sounds like a lot of work, but it really isn't - you just open all the bottles up before you begin and just wipe off most of the polish before doing tiny swipes here and there. It's SO easy, in fact, that I did it on both hands!
Is this really "neon"? Meh. I used a few "neon" China Glaze shades, but it's hard to get truly neon blue polish. It is bright! And I really like it! To finish it off I rummaged through my stash of loose glitter [for future frankening] and put a single holographic star on the cuticle end of each nail. They're a little pokey, so I think actual studs would have been nicer, but alas I don't currently have and fun 3D shaped nail jewel/stud items.
On my thumbs I did some other designs (an attempt at a circle of stars and some simple stripes), but I can't photograph my thumbs in an attractive way to save my life, so sorry!! Hope you had a nice holiday day if you're in the USA! It's been really rainy here and a giant tree fell down a few houses down Wednesday night, but the top (and majority of branches and general tree 'stuff') landed in our next door neighbor's yard (like touching the edge of ours, we were SO LUCKY) = the past few days has been a mix of chainsaws, yelling, fireworks at 5am, and rain :-/ I did partake in some chili cheese dogs, chicken wings, and watermelon yesterday, tho - yay!
