Neon Pink Dip Dye

Ah, neon week! Perfectly timed for summer!! I am so excited about this week but I'm also weeping a little because neons are a challenge to photograph, at least with my "fancy" camera. Thank gosh my iPhone is like "OH HEY, NEAT NEONS GURL!" so at least one photo here and there will be accurate :D Anyhoo, I'm starting the week off with a simple but striking ....errr gradient. Again! Gradients are all I can think about right now. But this one is neat and I felt so inspired by this one weird tassel image on Pinterest. Take a peek!

Psst. First 3 photos taken in indirect natural sunlight (yay!), last one taken with an Ott lamp skews it more blue-toned/fuchsia. It's definitely just bright pink, not fuchsia.

This was really simple to do, but it did take quite a few layers to get the look I wanted (and didn't enjoy being rushed). I taped off my nails and sponged on OPI Don't Touch My Tutu (need a back up, it's like all I care about lately is sheer whites and nudes) and Orly's Beach Cruiser, making sure I mixed it well in the middle. In fact, I even went so far as to do uneven strokes of pink so that it would meld together better and fade well.

I recently nubbinized ze nails because I just felt like it was time. Something about hot weather and wanting to dig into watermelons and wear super bright colors makes me yearn for short nails (and short hair, but that's a different story). Neon neon neon! Orly Beach Cruiser is from last summer's Feel the Vibe collection. That collection is the cat's pajamas, and if you like neons I urge you to buy all of them if you haven't already. They're so nice and opaque and bright without needing to layer over white.

Now check out the other neon nails for today!

    1. Oh, thank you!! I think the trick is really mixing the colors together on the sponge before putting it on your nail :)

    1. Thanks so much! Did you dip-dye your hair a fun color or a more 'natural' one? I've got a slight brown -> blonde ombre in my hair at the moment, but would love a pastel color :P

    2. Haha mine's just brown/blonde too, as I think my work would go crazy if I had anything else! I'd love a colour (or several) too, I saw some wash-out hair crayon things in Topshop that were very tempting....

    3. Aw, yes! I haven't tried any temporary crayon style things since ombre-ing, but I totally should!
