Digit-al Dozen: '80s Inspired Taped Triangles

This is my favorite tape mani so far this week - and I guess it turns out I'm pretty okay at tape?! More so than I thought, anyway! Today is an ode to the amazing amazing Nailside and her Abstract '80s mani where she experiments with sheer/neon overlapping shapes. I did one nail following her tutorial for this look, then went wild doing whatever I felt like on the other nails. Check it out!

My base coat is just one coat of China Glaze's Bahamian Escape, definitely in my Top 5 Favorite Polishes Evar. The I used standard Scotch tape to do triangles and angled shapes with two Milani "neon" shades - Rad Purple and Awesome Orange. I know a lot of people were sort of disappointed with the Milani neons because the bottles are colored glass and the polishes themselves are sheer and very squishy jellies, but I really like them because I KNOW they're meant to be that way, ya know?! The Milani neons also worked super well because they dried crazy quick! As with all my manis, I'm religiously using HK Girl fast dry top coat because it dries quickly ;)

Love love loved these nails and got lots of compliments on them! I was so pleasantly surprised that layering orange and purple together creates this really pretty raspberry shade; very cool. So sad they had to come off again so quickly, but I will definitely file this idea away to use again soon. Now check out the other awesome tape manis below!
