What is a 'Beauty Byte'? It's a curt, but well worded, review of a beauty product! Huzzah!
Looking for a fine-tipped, automatic-advancing eyebrow pencil that will provide an incredibly natural and precisely filled in brow?! Maybelline Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil (.001oz, 50mg per pencil) does the job smoothly! The bright green packaging really stands out in a sea of otherwise black-handled makeup brushes and pencils, so it's easy to spot and grab quickly. Perfect for someone with naturally fuller brows that is looking for just a little bit of extra definition, this pencil plays well inside the lines to fill in bald spots. Sparsely-browed ladies like myself will probably want to look elsewhere to fulfill their bold brow dreams. I found it challenging to fake extra brow with this pencil, specifically along my tail where I am most bald, so I can't recommend it if you're hoping to really add drama and hair where there isn't any (at least, not with this particular 'Light Blonde' shade, not sure about the 'Dark Blonde'). The handy comb on the other end is perfect for eyebrow wranglin' and also works well to de-clump eyelashes; the teeth are closely spaced and work well with fine hairs. For my puny budget, this pencil doesn't really float my boat as much as I hoped it would* - but it did provide lots of laughs when I ran out of product with 2/3rds of one eyebrow done up in all-day, waterproof'd staying power!
*Not in the mood to re-purchase an $8+ eyebrow pencil every like 3.5 weeks when the results aren't as dramatic as I prefer. Also major con: You can't tell when the pencil will run out, it just suddenly won't click up any further :'(
Now here are some fun iPhone photos in which I show you some major close ups of my eyebrows. Sort of weird, but I feel like you can't really write a review without also showing how the product works in action, you know?

- Moisturized face, no cosmetics - just brushed my brows out, and took photos with light in the wrong spot. You can see I have a pretty normal amount of hair in the front, but then they stop like half way - and no, I don't pluck. I leave my hairs long because I'm too scared to trim them short and have less brow.
- Heavily applied Define-A-Brow in light Blonde. My eyebrow definitely looks precise and natural, but the tail is still sort of missing >.<
- A good brow day using the brown matte eyeshadow from theBalm matte palette, Matt Ramirez, over primer; these are my "fancy" brows for going out, etc. [Yep, the eyeliner is the same as #2, but this is a different day and here I've got bronzer in the crease, too]
Bottom Line: Maybelline Define-A-Brow eyebrow pencil lives up to all of it's claims of being precise, natural, and smudge-proof. Highly recommend for people with enough eyebrow hairs that are looking for a light fill, and aren't seeking bolder brows like moi.
Do you use an eyebrow pencil or a different product to fill in your brows? OR are you lucky enough that you don't have to worry about your eye arches?!
