Polish Addict Nail Color Beachy Keen Summer Collection: Swatches & Review

Today I've got some beautiful summer inspired polishes from indie brand Polish Addict Nail Color. Perfect name for a polish company, right? I know *I* for one am a polish addict :D Polish Addict is a new-to-me indie brand but I've admired her many crelly creations from afar; she offers a lot of stock in her online shop so it's hard to choose just a few! The Beachy Keen Summer Collection is a five piece collection filled with glitter. Check it out!
*Products in this post were provided for my honest review and for swatching purposes!

I swatched everything with OPI Natural Base Coat and HK Girl fast dry top coat if you're curious! As per usual, they're arranged in alphabetical order for easy sorting, too. My press samples are mini bottles, which I generally find a little more tricky to use simply because of the smaller bottle mouth. However, the formula on all of the polishes was really great and I had no problems painting or 'fishing' for glitters despite it being in a mini container!! All photos were taken in indirect Ott Lite ("natural"), except where stated as flash in the caption. Grab a drink or a snack before diving in because I've got LOTS of photos!

Beach Bunny is a "neon pink fuchsia jelly with a mix of matte and metallic glitters in pink, teal, lavender, silver iridescent, and blue". This is 3 thin coats with top coat, but I could have probably done a fourth coat because my nails are sort of long. Excellent formula, and SO MUCH PRETTY GLITTER.

Then I layered 2 coats of Beach Bunny over 1 coat of Wet n Wild Lavender Creme; I really liked this combo a lot! It still had nice depth.

Beachy Keen is a "nude crelly with matte glitters in yellow, lavender, plum, melon and peach". I found the base to be more lavender-grey than 'nude'. I love the contrast between the bright yellow and melon glitters and the softer pink and purple ones that blend with the base a little more. I built it up to 3.5ish coats (sort of wiped the glitter away and just used the crelly base to add some more depth on the last coat). I loved the depth!

Then I layered 2 coats of Beachy Keen over 2 coats of Orly Pure Porcelain, a light pink-grey toned white based creme. I'm sure one coat of Beachy Keen would have looked great, too, but I'm all about the subtle 'buried treasure' look with tinted based glitters like this one.

Summer Lovin' is "a white crelly with neon green, neon pink, hot pink, and green glitters" that is perfect for summer because it reminds me of a refreshing berry smoothie or something (don't those glitters make you think of melons and berries?). BUT it would also be a really fun, modern Christmas polish, too!! Neons for Christmas! This is 3 coats and top coat, but on my pointer I did 4 coats.

Then I layered 1 coat of Summer Lovin' over 2 coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, a grey-toned white creme. Layering it over a creme made it a little more stark, but I liked that the teeny tiny glitters were easier to see.

Tiki Bar is a "neon blue jelly with mix of neon, matte and metallic fine glitters". This is the only polish that I had a little bit of trouble with; it has these fine gold bar glitters that are incredibly curled and I had a hard time getting it to be blue and not teal on my nails (probably because I'm stained, womp womp). The formula was still great and easy to work with, tho! I just had issues with opacity on my long-ish nails and couldn't get it to read blue like the bottle.

Then I layered 2 coats of Tiki Bar over 1 coat of Pure Ice French Kiss, a bright blue creme. I thought this showed off the shimmer in Tiki Bar really well! I loved this combo, but perhaps because I'm partial to French Kiss!

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, adorable name much!! Circle glitter lovers, this one is for you. It's a "yellow crelly with large, medium, small holo and metallic circle glitters " and it has these fine shimmery sparks that are really pretty, too! This is a really pretty soft yellow when built up and also would be perfect for spring and Easter nails.

Then I layered 1 coat of Yellow Polka Dot Bikini over 2 coats of Revlon Electric, my favorite yellow. This pairing was a little jarring because Electric is much more of a goldenrod type yellow, and YPDB needed a much softer yellow base but I don't really have a polish like that (I purged a lot of them in favor of Revlon Electric).

Manicurity | Polish Addict Beachy Keen Summer Collection: Swatches & Review

Overall, I really like that these polishes utilize smaller glitters - especially in Beach Bunny, Summer Lovin' and Tiki Bar. These crelly concoctions remind me of original indie polishes, in a good way! I think these polishes all look best when you build them up to opacity because of the extreme depth in the layers, which does take more coats than normal polishes (3-5 thin coats). But I love the look and think it's worth it!!
Beach Bunny and Beachy Keen are my favorites from this collection. I don't really like pink, but I'm a sucker for glitter-filled pink tinted polishes, plus the mix of glitters in Beach Bunny is truly beautiful. And I'm also a sucker for barely-there subtle crelly polishes like Beachy Keen.

Which ones do you like??!
