It's that time of the month - DIGIT-AL DOZEN! And this month we're tackling BOOK WEEK as the theme. While I could have chosen to do book covers like a normal person, I decided to do different kinds of books instead! After having done a week of Harry Potter nails, and two different Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire manis, and both Jurassic Park and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo nails (most recent two books I've read, what a slacker here!) I thought this would be a fun and different spin on the theme. Check out my COLORING BOOK nails! And keep in mind that this is supposed to look like a coloring book (so please no comments like "that's it...?")
For my base I did two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (backup worthy, yikes!) and I found it painted much better for me this time by doing a single thin coat and then a second thicker coat (vs. 3 - 4 medium yet patchy coats the other times I've used it) . Then I stamped some random patterns that I thought would be cute to color in from the third set of Bundle Monster plates using Wet n Wild Wild Shine Black Creme. Then matte top coat (I used Essie's, it's so-so, but seems to chunk up on me occasionally) to mimic paper, then I colored some things in with mini Sharpies! This was so fun to do - I definitely felt some childlike wonder while coloring in my nails, and the end result is so much better than what I thought it would be!! I was worried it might be sort of messy, but everything is perfect. I'm not sure if it translates well in photos?! But I promise it was really neat in person!
