DEXTER Week: You Slay Me

I'm sorry I keep posting soo late in the day; I think it's because summer makes it too bright late at night and I'm all, "Tra-la-la! Yay afternoon! Wait. Dinner time?! UGH AND NO NAILS YET." But I think these nails are pretty sweet so maybe that makes up for it; I did knife pattern nails mwhahaha. And then I added some gross bloody gradients, so it's like two nail arts, one post. Peep it!

My base color is 3 quick coats of OPI Don't Touch my Tutu, then I painted all of the knives, blood droplets, and the blood slide on my pointer with acrylic paints. I have to say, I'm really enjoying the acrylic paints lately!! It dries so quickly and I don't have to constantly re-dip my brushes the way I do with polish; plus acrylic paint doesn't get all stringy like polish. Then for fun I sponged Pure Ice Crimson and a pink jelly on the ends and really smeared some blood on the knives with an orange stick.

Do you like the more plain version or the crazy bloody one? I can't decide! I like it both ways!!

Check out my other partners in crime this week below:

  1. hahah - I'm also the tralala kind of person with summertime ;)
I can't tell which version I like most, 'cause all I know is they're both awesome! I love the clean look, with just a few driplets of blood, 'cause you can see all the details better, but then the gore version is actually pretty cool also!
argh! Can't make up my mind! ;) Love them both! **
