Trelly's M.I.S.C Polish Summer 2013 Collection: Swatches & Review (pic heavy)

Trelly's M.I.S.C Polish is a new-to-me indie brand, but I am in LOVE. The entire summer collection is soooo swoonworthy! Because I am a crazy person, I've swatched all of the 9 polishes in the collection twice so you can enjoy different base color pairings. Get ready for lots of fun glittery goodness and neons, with 5 glitter toppers and 4 colored-crelly-based glitters!!
*Products in this post were provided for my honest review and for swatching purposes!

I swatched everything with butterLodon's Nail Foundation as my base coat and OPI Rapid Dry tc if you're curious! They're arranged in alphabetical order for easy sorting, too. The formula on all of the polishes was EXCELLENT and I had no problems painting. All photos were taken in indirect Ott Lite ("natural"), except where stated as flash in the caption [there's just one with flash]. Grab a drink or a snack before diving in because I've got LOTS of photos!

Barbie Dream House is an awesome glitter topper with semi-transparent neon yellow-green hexes, neon pink glitters of different shapes and sizes (square!), and white glitters including stars and rectangles. I love the fun neons in this, but the stars are a smidgen thick (no problemo with some extra top coat, tho). It's fun layering this one over different base colors because it skews the neons different tones (color theory and all that). The first swatch is heavily dabbled over Orly Pure Porcelain, the second swatch is more 'swiped' over China Glaze Bahamian Escape.

Beach Bunny is a pink crelly base with different aqua-y blue glitters and very subtle lavender glitters, too. I like the colors in this one; the lighter purple glitter mixed with the bolder blue gives it lots of depth (sort of makes me think of ghost glitter, as if the blue glitter is falling quickly and the lavender glitter is where the blue glitter just was...) First swatch is two coats over bL Nail Foundation, second is 1 coat Beach Bunny over 2 coats Zoya Shelby; layering it didn't change the color drastically because the polish has a nicely pigmented crelly base, but it does make the more subtle glitters more apparent.

Dreaming of Unicorns is one of the 'softer' glitter toppers and polishes in this collection; in a sea of neons, this one seems very spring-y. I love love love the mix of pastels with shapes, including hearts, stars, and some pastel pink circle glitters! Lots of really pretty shifting glitters in this one, so it looks great over light and darker colors. And CIRCLES. First swatch is over Essence Colour & Go You Belong to Me, second swatch is over Pure Ice Kiss Me Here - just one coat of Dreaming of Unicorns in each swatch, the bottle is really nicely packed with glitter.

Flamingos in the Pool is sort of ahhhhhmazing, and equally amazingly hard to photograph because it's a neon pink base with a rainbow of glitters in different finishes. This is like DL's Candy Shop on indie steroids!! Very much an 'everything but the kitchen sink' polish with lots of different shapes including rectangles, stars, bars, medium hexes, and lots of lovely smaller hexes, too! I love that some of the glitters are metallic in a neon base. No problems with the formula despite being really packed with glitter! First swatch is two coats, second swatch is 1x over Wet n Wild Wild Shine Lavender Creme, which isn't purple at all, but a hot pink very similar to OPI Kiss me on my Tulips.

Flip Flops & Tank Tops is a hot mix of pink, red, orange, and yellow glitters in lots of different shapes and sizes, including bars, large hexes, and SQUARES (yay)! It looks really great over colors that are similar, like peach, coral, yellow, etc., but I LOVE it over mint and black (obvs). The bottle, again, is acked with glitter but easy to work with! First swatch is over Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, second is just a random black creme

Lisa Frank is da Bomb is crazy cool! It has tons of thin neon glitters mixed with various shapes and sizes of black glitters, plus occasional holographic silver hearts. The bottle is packed with glitter and I had a little bit of a challenge with the thin glitters bunching up, but it wasn't hard to get glitter out of the bottle. I LOVE this glitter, but I do worry a little that maybe the thin neons will get lost over some colors; just means I have a thousand different things to try this out over! First swatch is over 2x OPI Don't Touch my Tutu, second is over CND Perfectly Bare.

Never Growing Up is a pleasant surprise twist on the black and white glitter idea because I'm 92.7% sure that the smaller hexes in this glitter topper are GREY glitters!! It has a fine balance of small, skinny pink bar glitters and stars, with large black hexes and rectangles, and two sizes of grey hexes. I really love the proportions of the glitter shapes; I'm not always a bar glitter fan, but they just seem right in this polish. First swatch is over Pure Ice Kiss Me Here, second swatch is over China Glaze Four Leaf Clover which is near-impossible to correctly photograph, but looked really great in person!

Stay Sweet is really unique because I can't find anything in my stash that's a dead-on dupe for the crelly base color; it's pink on the verge of purple and beautifully saccharine to the point of almost making my teeth hurt! It mixes white rectangles, stars, and hexes with aqua glitters including massive holo circle glitters. [Yes, you just read that right - MASSIVE. HOLO. TURQUOISE  CIRCLE. GLITTERS.] This is one of the less pigmented crellies and could have probably used a third coat for this swatch. The larger glitters in this one are a wee bit tricky and the stars at least are a teensy bit thicker than usual; I just tried to wait between coats to avoid drag and then used a little bit extra top coat. First swatch is two coats, second swatch is 1x over China Glaze Light at Air.

Sugar Coated is probably my favorite polish of the whole collection! I love the grayed out lavender base and the contrasting neon glitters!! Along with Stay Sweet this crelly-glitter polish is a little less pigmented than the other two crelly-based polishes from this collection. The formula is easy to work with tho, and I didn't notice any dragging. First swatch is two coats, second is 1x over butterLondon Muggins.

Did you get sick of me saying the formula was really easy to work with?! It really is, though! I love when an indie maker has perfected that fine balance of stuffing tons of glitter into a bottle, but it's still easy to get the glitter back out and onto your nail. If you hate shape and/or bar glitter (do people consider that to be the same...?) then there aren't a lot in this collection that you'll like. But! if your issue is 'fishing' for shapes, I didn't have a problem with that. My top faves are all of them, but if I really had to pick just three I like Sugar Coated, Flip Flops & Tank Tops, and Flamingos in the Pool a lot.

Which ones do you like?!
