Matte May: Planetary

These nails are SO COOL and yet super easy to do, much like galaxy nails but these remind me of whole planets or the complicated interiors to glass marbles. This was the base to a previous post - Sonoma Nail Art Mustard Fields but now you get to see the beautiful details really well :D

So here's an easy step-by-step on how to do these:
  1. Mess up the standard plastic baggie watercolor method and basically remove some patches of polish so you can see bare nail (whoopsie)
  2. Cover up your mess with a green jelly polish; mine was New York Summer Hot Green. Congrats on making a mess with your mess.
  3. Realize this now looks like lumpy slime, so remove some patches of green jelly with Q-tips dunked in acetone
  4. Revel in how amazing the end result of smooshing and layering looks while all the other steps were horrible :D
My base coat was Misa Dirty, Sexy, Money and then I blobbed some OPI Who the Shrek Are You?, Rainbow Honey Lucky Bot and RH Bitty Love Bot ((the Rainbow Honey shades were sent for review)). The end result was mostly matte, but at some point I'm fairly sure I used a fast dry topcoat to even it all out so I probably did matte tc it at the end, too. I really really loved this.
