Digit-al Dozen Does Bling!

Another month means another round of the Digit-al Dozen, my favey and most stressful week of the month, and this time our theme is BLING! This was the first idea I had when inspiration from the Bling theme struck - gemstone-inspired nails in a sammie-style layering. Doing these took a lot of trial and error, but in the end I am pretty pleased with these nails :D Sorry this is a little bit more pic-heavy than usual, I just couldn't help it!

First I threw down a single coat of a champagne colored foil, then I did some layers of various colored jellies on top. I used a striper brush and did some line patterns to represent some different popular gemstone cuts - baguette, marquise, triangle, and cushion. Then even more jelly back on top and ta-dah! Bling-inspired, but mostly just juicy and shine-tastic. I really like that it looks so saturated and shiny from a distance, and then when you look more closely you can see the design in the layering. This was the one time I was totally OK with the light reflection being obvious in my photos, ha! I love these and am not looking forward to taking them off later :-/

Check out the other BLING! designs below!!
