Lac Attack Spring Fling Collection Swatches & Review

Today I've got swatches of the Lac Attack 'Spring Fling' Collection to share with you! This 6-piece collection of polishes is really well-rounded; three are more opaque polishes with glitter and the other three are glitter toppers. I love the variety of polishes in this collection - there is definitely something for every kind of polishaholic!

Lac Attack Spring Fling Collection

Before we start here's a little background on what I used for these swatches - my basecoat is OPI Natural Nail Base Coat, my top coat is HK Girl fast dry tc, my matte top coat in these swatches is Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love. For most glitter toppers I use the 'dabble' method; for the polish 'Garden Party' I painted as usual. The swatches are arranged in alphabetical order which also conveniently means the 3 glitter toppers are first, then the opaque polishes!! The formula on all of these polishes was really great with the exception of Spring Fling, which stood out as being a bit thick and a little hard to work with.

Bunny Poop is "a mix of multiple sizes of yellow, pink, green, and blue pastel matte glitter in a clear base - the perfect spring glitter topper!" and the official Lac Attack description is spot on! Super adorable name for a super adorable polish :D The formula was great, no issues. I especially like the proportions of the glitter sizes on this one; the smallest sized glitters spread well and fill in a lot of space.

Cherry Blossom Bloom is a "clear base featuring white hexes and [large] rectangles, with two sizes of fuchsia circle glitter!" This polish is really unique - I haven't seen a lot of things (anything?!) like it and there's nothing similar to it in my stash. I would recommend two coats of this only because I love when the glitters in this one layer over each other - then it especially reminds me of blossoms!

Garden Party + Cherry Blossom Bloom - this was a really complicated but really cool combo; layering these two glitters together looks very much like different flower petals strewn about!

Lac Attack Garden Party & Cherry Blossom Bloom

Garden Party is "inspired by the floral explosion in springtime -  a mixture of pale pink and green". This one can be built to opacity in 4 coats or so (yay glue base, amirite?). I appreciate that there's a more 'normal' glitter topper in this collection with smaller glitters so that there's something for everyone. Pretty polish and unique color combo compared to my stash.

Holy Chick! is "a white crelly base with pale blue and yellow hexes, and small iridescent glitters". All the white crelly lovers out there will definitely love this one, too - so delicate and pretty!! I went for more of a sheer look with this, but you can obviously build it up for to avoid VNL if you prefer. I found it easy to work with, but I treated it as I would any crelly and waited a little bit extra between coats to prevent drag! Psst. I generally prefer crellies built up as opposed to just layering them over a creme base like my ring finger, only because they get that very cool 'buried treasure' depth.

Puddle Jumping is "inspired by the April showers, gray skies, and blue raindrops; a medium-light gray creme with tiny indigo and blue flakes and a gorgeous purple/blue hidden shimmer". This one is SO COOL! If you like micro-glittery polishes, this one is a must have. It reminds me of that really cool sort of grainy look some polishes have - in a good way. Crazy good formula; would be a one-coater on shorter nails ((I only did one coat on my ring finger!))

Spring Fling (the namesake of this collection) is inspired by "the return of the bright blue skies and growth in nature; [this polish] combines both of these with a bright blue base and small neon green glitter". I also saw a cool hidden shimmer in this polish! It's a really unique combination of colors and very bright. The formula was a little thick and I found it easiest to do two thicker coats as opposed to lots of thinner coats.

tl;dr
  • well rounded collection with lots of different kinds of finishes (3 glitter toppers, 3 opaque-with-glitter polishes; a crelly, a full-opacity glitter, a unique glitter topper, a matte glitter topper, micro-flakie-glitter polish, crazy-cool blue + green polish)
  • great formula on all polishes, but Spring Fling was a little thick and tricky

Which ones are calling out to you?! If I HAD to pick a polish from each of the collections as faves, it would probably be a tie between Bunny Poop and Garden Party (too different to choose, right?) from the glitter toppers and definitely Puddle Jumping from the more opaque polishes.
