Sugarpill Sweetheart Look + Tutorial

Hello hello! Happy Monday! I've got something bright and colorful to cheer you up - an eye look using all 4 bright shades from the Sugarpill Sweetheart palette! Sugarpill is an independent cosmetic company with fantastically bright shades of eyeshadow (both pressed and loose) and fabulous eyelashes. Their 4-pan palettes are crazy popular and sell out frequently. I am also super pleased with their customer service; when one of my single eyeshadows arrived completely shattered in the mail, they were really kind and swiftly replaced it.

What I really like about the shades in this palette is that they blend so well; I got that vibrant, beautiful purple color just by blending the pink, Dollipop, and blue, Afterparty! So that's like having 5 shades in one!

This time I've added the simple directions to the tutorial graphic, but I'll repeat them here with a little more detail! You should be able to view the photo much, much larger, too.
  1. Smudge some black liner by your lash line on an already primed lid.
  2. Pat Tako all over the lid; yep, on top of the black liner! I like doing this because it looks a lot less harsh. I didn't focus Tako in the crease as much because I knew I was going to be adding lots of brights there, but I did sweep a little more than usual on my inner lid and tear duct
  3. Using an angled brush, place Afterparty (blue) and Dollipop (pink) in the crease. I also drew a more winged shape with Afterparty and connected it down towards my bottom lash line in this step.
  4. Blend, blend, blend, blend! The pink and blue shades should easily make a lovely purple where they meet in the center. This is also the step during which I blended some Midori into the outer V, inside the blue-to-purple area.
  5. Line the waterline with the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. I usually roll a smaller white eyeliner in the large, smooshy tip of my Milk pencil and then line per usual. You can also use this technique to apply gel liner!
  6. Using a different angled brush, apply Afterparty (blue) and Midori (green) to the waterline, covering all of the Nyx Milk that's there. I blended from blue to green and then left the inner third of my waterline white so that it transitioned back into the white near my tear duct.

Products Used
- Urban Decay Primer Potion original primer (HG for now)
- Sugarpill Sweetheart palette
- NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
- Hard Candy Glamoflauge in Light (under eye concealer)
- Maybelline Eye Studio MasterShape Brow Pencil in Blonde
- Maybelline black eyeliner
- Clinique High Impact mascara (black)
- lots of angled brushes. they're like my favorite.

This look was fun to wear! I was pleasantly surprised that my boyfriend thought it was neat and colorful, and not at all clownish (I was a little worried, the combo of white with lots of colors made me think of clown face).

How was your weekend; did you do anything fun? Have you done any colorful makeup lately?
