My Favorite Things: February

Whoaaaaa, is it just me or is 2013 FLYING BY?! It's sort of crazy amazing how fast it's going. But February is the shortest month of the year, so that's probably a normal feeling? I'm so glad the weather seems to be on the up and up here in Georgia :D

favorite new (tried) polish: Probably Zoya Nyx from the Pixie Dust collection! I was hesitant about trying them, but I love loveeee the Pixie Dusts!!!

favorite new (tried) indie: Lush Lacquer Clowning Around! I had to put it on right when I got it in the mail!!!
via Instagram; are you on IG?! Let's B friends!

favorite new (UNtried) indie polish: I've got some new Sonoma Nail Art polishes and Lush Lacquers to try, yum! ALSO NOT TO MENTION SOME NERDLACQUERS. YOU GUYS.

favorite new polish collection: Hmmm. I guess just indie collections? I was/am particularly fond of the Candy Lacquer themed VD polishes, and the neon collection that Lush Lacquer just recently put out. I'm mostly shying away from the 'big name' brands because I'm trying not to pick up dupes, but I am really looking forward to the Orly Hope & Freedom collection! Below are my picks of polishes I still think I'll pick up - OPI's Polka.com, China Glaze Budding Romance, and Orly High on Hope and Peaceful Opposition

manicure I did: By far and away, this super dotty thing is DA BEST.
original post
It's layered dots of lots of different colors that look like lots of tiny eyeballs! Awesome and creepy. Love love love it.

new technique/tip: Not necessarily new or anything, but I'm finally having greater success doing 'cut crease' eye looks if I use a small angled brush to define the line clearly vs. a less stiff/less precise crease brush. Huzzah! Check out the awesome cut crease cat-eye look that I really love here on Makeup Geek to see what I'm talking about.

favorite new makeup item: I've only used it a few times and it's a little less pigmented than I had hoped, but I think I've found a bronzer that works well for contouring! Physicians Formula Bronzer & Blush Glow & Mood Boosting in Bronze/Natural

favorite TV show to watch while blogging: In February I've been alternating between crime and animated show - Deception and The Following paired with Shaun the Sheep and Futurama!

book: Still working on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - finally after the first 200 pages the book is getting more interesting! I think because the first movie is just so good it makes the book less interesting. I didn't have this issue with Jurassic Park and it's movie counterpart, but that's alright. Looking forward to finishing Girl now!
