What a Novel Idea

Would you believe me if I said I forgot today was Friday? Or most specifically, that I still had challenge nails to do today. Boyfriend and I ran a lot errands today and so I guess I thought today was Saturday already!! No matter, I've still got some book-inspired nails for you today! Can you guess what popular book (also turned into a movie, which got re-made recently because American's apparently don't like subtitles) these nails are from?

Here's a hint - I didn't have any dragons on my stamping plates for my ring finger, so I used a different tattoo-esque image. Yep, these nails are inspired by The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larson! I've only watched the Swedish movies and I've been reading the book on my iPad on and off for a month or two now, but I think it's a pretty awesome trilogy. My index finger represents the mysterious framed flowers Vagner receives each year on his birthday, and the rest of my nails represent the main character of the three books, Lisbeth Salander. Lisbeth is an off-beat computer hacker that teams up with a liberal magazine reporter to help solve the 40 year old mystery surrounding a missing person from a small island in Sweden. While my summary makes it sound fun and adventurey, it's a lot more twisted and gross in detail. The actual title is literally 'Men who hate Women', so not exactly great before-bed reading (hence why I haven't read very far into the book yet). In fact, I'm reading Next by Micheal Crichton before bed right now instead of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, because genetic experiments are apparently less upsetting/exciting to me than murder mysteries before sleeping.

Anyhoooo, check out the other book-inspired nails below!

In other news - can you believe it's FEBRUARY already?!?! Crazy!!

  1. Wonderful! The flower is perfect!

    1. Thanks!! I stamped it :p Maybe I should've mentioned that more explicitly
