ABC: L is for Lickety-Split Lime

Lickety-Split Lime is the drugstore semi-dupe for OPI Who the Shrek Are You? and it's a bright, yellow-toned lime green (obvious from the name, eh?). The OPI polish is a little bit more yellow-toned and somehow overall 'funkier', but all of the polishes in the Shrek collection are fairly watery and require at least 3 coats (some even more). Lickety-Split Lime is from the Insta-Dri sub-brand from Sally Hansen and only required two coats to be opaque. The large brush in this line can be problematic for people with small nails and it's not my personal favorite brush. Anyhoooo, look upon the bright nails!

Surprisingly, I don't have a lot of Insta-Dri polishes in my collection. I think the large brush, tall, skinny bottle, and price point keep this sub-brand from being a favorite of mine. Some of the colors from this line and the Xtreme Wear line are dupes or similar enough for me to want to pick the $2 bottle with the less annoying brush and more polish vs. the Insta-Dris. The Insta-Dri polishes are pretty decent for stamping, tho, and some of the metallics and limited edition seasonal displays are pretty awesome!

PS. Did you know that the Insta-Dri polishes have only .3 fluid ounces or 9.17ml of product vs. a 'standard' bottle that holds .5 fl oz or 15ml of product?!? Those tricky bottles!

Don't forget to check out the other 'L' polishes Bee and Kerrie picked out for today! See you back here next Thursday for something 'M'agnificient!!

  3. Just bought this like last week! Heard it was a fab green to stamp with. I've used other Insta-Dri to stamp and they are great!
