Mellow Yellow

I am in a polish conundrum - I love yellow, but I hate yellow nail polish because I am never patient enough and I typically paint coats too thickly to get along with yellow. Enter the 'plastic baggie' nail art (sounds super sexy, eh?)!! The good ol' plastic bag technique gives a watercolor nail art effect and contains all the satisfaction and excitement of wearing yellow nail polish, while only taking a few minutes of my time (instead of what feels like hours of sadness and waiting).

First I did a quick coat of Nubar Classic Camel on all nails, then I globbed on some dots of Sally Hansen Gilded Lily, Mellow Yellow, and Lightening + Revlon Electric! and smushed it around under a layer of plastic. The glob and smush technique should be done individually on each nail so that you can clean up the edges while the polish is still wet. Next time I might try taping the edges or doing Vaseline around my nail so that the clean up is easier. I find the end result from this plastic baggie smush is a lot like watermarbling or on-the-nail needle marbling, but easier and less time consuming (at least for me personally).

True love right here! I am so so sad that these didn't get worn for very long. Anyhoo, don't forget to check out the other yellow nails for today below!
