Digit-al Dozen x 31DC: Brancusi Sculptures

Today's nails are inspired by Brancusi! Brancusi is considered one of the fathers of modern sculpture and the pioneer of modernism. I think his most well known piece is Bird in Space, but I'm also partial to Sleeping Muse. It was really challenging to emulate the simplicity of his work in my nail art! But I do like the colors I chose together and the four pieces I based my art on.

I got to play with two of my new Lime Crime polishes and some of the Essie chrome polishes with this mani. The chromes are great for stamping but can be kind of a pain for art because the finish shows off a lot of errors and defects in the surface. The mix of creme and metallic is a fun pairing of textures. From index to pinkie I based my art on La Negresse Blonde, earrings based on Sleeping Muse, Bird in Space (as sort of a racing stripe situation), and Endless Column. Here's a collage with my inspiration art; some of the pieces got cropped, but they're worth working up if you have a minute.
