ABC: D is for DVD

When I first got really into polish I snapped up pretty much every attractive drugstore polish available, including most of the Sally Hansen HD line but haven't really used them yet (surprise!). A majority of the Hi-Definition line is duochromey glass fleck top coats, but I don't use them very frequently because I feel like it's all about experimenting (and I don't really take the time). For today's ABC Challenge I did some skittles of SH DVD HD over a few cool-toned colors - black, China Glaze Grape Pop, OPI Ogre the Top Blue, Revlon Hazy (a bluey-lavender shade of grey).

My favorites were over the light grey and the purple! DVD over the grey was gorgeous! It looked like the bottle color but opaque - super sparkly and glowy. The color shift on the nail is not nearly as obvious as it is in the bottle, and it is more shift-y over black than any other shade which is pretty typical.

Do you have any of the Sally Hansen Hi-Definition colors? How do you feel about effect top coats?

Don't forget to check out the other 'D' polishes Bee and Kerrie picked out for today! And we'll see you back here next Thursday for 'E'.

  2. This looks gorgeous. I love toppers like this, but feel like alot of them look different in the bottle, but then the same on the nail >.<

    1. I know what you mean! It can be so hard to keep track of the actual effect on the nails vs. the bottle color! The CND ones are especially hard for me to remember without looking at a nail wheel swatch
