I wrote a song for you

And all the things you do

Today is the second day of the Digit-al Dozen week of musical nail art! Can you guess my song inspiration for today's nail art?

It's 'Yellow' by Coldplay! I had a different idea in mind for this mani (I even had it sketched out!), but at the last minute I decided to try what you see here - yellow ombre nails with some glitter. In the end I was not very pleased with these; there's not really any 'art' to it and my ombre just looks off (I guess now I know I prefer my ombres to be all one finish). However, I do plan to do the version of these that I had sketched soon to make up for it!

From pointer to pinkie: SH Hard as Nails Hard Lemonade, SH Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow, Revlon Electric, SH Insta-Dri Lightening. I forgot how awesome the yellow Revlon Top Speed was!

mystery Color Club polish, WnW Stars & St
I got this mystery, unnamed CC polish in a duo from this year's winter collection at TJ Maxx and it is so freaking pretty! It's all even sized opalescent hex glitters, but half of them shine red to orange and the other half shine green to blue; the effect is stunning over darker colors. On yellow, this glitter just immediately makes me think of Easter.

And then as an attempt to salvage this (after lots of extra coats of glitter), I matte-d the whole thing. Then I thought, OMG - wouldn't it be so cute to use topcoat to make the stars 'shine for you'?! But instead I was all like, nope, going to scratch away the top coat over the stars with an orange stick because the 'excavation' mani has worked before (I'm looking at you, Harry Potter Timeturner nail art!). So here is what an injured My Little Pony toy would look like, in case you were wondering!

See you back here tomorrow with another music-inspired mani!

Psst. Since we're talking about yellow nail polish, don't forget to enter my 'Manicurity Learns Rafflecopter' giveaway that ends this Saturday!

  1. I'm not a big fan of yellow but these are cute!

  2. These are cute and I love this song!
