Weekly Wrap Up vol. 1

[Officefordesign: W-box via flodeau]

Hey y'all! I'm bringing back 'Lazy Sunday' but calling it 'Weekly Wrap Up' and promising to do it more often. I've been out of town on vacations a lot the past two weeks - in fact I was away from the computer for most of the posts that have been published in October so far!! But I did have time to re-do the blog layout (again). It was sort of a "soft re-design", like a soft opening for a restaurant, and thus I am 'officially' announcing it now because it's all done and I feel ready for feedback. I went with my favey, trustworthy theme of using CMYK and traditional fonts with simple geometric shapes for the (sparse) graphics. Whatcha think??! I'm not sure I love the outlines around all the photos (you can see it on the zig zag borders above and below this paragraph); do you like it? Let me know in the comments!

This Week's Highlights: no cool posts; just the new layout. You like?!

Current Events
- beautiful weather here in Georgia lately! Cardigans are hands down my fave
- throwing a small shindig tonight at my home; I would invite you if I could ;p
- trying to use my iPad camera more often - no promises, just hopes & dreams
- hitting up the King of Pops Field Day tomorrow :D I love dem popsicles

Upcoming Content: This Week + Beyondddddd
I've been feeling a lot of ups and downs with blogging lately. I am a competitive person by nature (honestly, I can't believe my boyfriend is even willing to play board games with me anymore) and so sometimes I can get caught up in//let myself feel really down about "the numbers". But as everyone says, it's not about the numbers - it's truly about if blogging makes you happy. Because blogging at my scale is not a source of income, it really does have to be an activity I want to be doing (especially because I take pride/love to spend time adjusting the layout, editing photos, watermarking, etc.). Sometimes I question my own motives and satisfaction and just want to throw in the towel, delete and walk away. I can get really down on myself when my photographs aren't up to my own standards.
I've decided to make some changes and introduce some different (but still related) content, which you will be seeing more of in the near future!! As the new header says - expect nails, makeup, and guinea pigs at least ;p And as the photo at the beginning of the post suggests, part of the new content will be design related since that is a big part of my background

Nail Trend I ♥'d Latelymosaic nails!! also gold leaf topcoats

Free 4 Haul
Eyeshadows! Urban Decay Dangerous Palette, theBalm Shady Lady vol 2, the Balm Meet Matt matte palette, two of the L'Oreal Project Runway quads (I might return both of them, tho, and I am undecided about needing to keep both the Dangerous & Shady Lady palettes because they seem similar...)
Nails! New cuticle pusher, jewel-incrusted Baker Street, clearanced polishes at Ulta, sale Cults ordered, discounted Hare fall glitter polish set ordered...expect new things on the 'blog sale' tab soon ;D

Weekly Piggie Picture!
This is Baby Bear, my oldest guinea piggie. She's also the biggest. All 3 of my piggies look very similar; they have short black hair, with occasional light brown spots. I usually just call this 'lil lady Momma Baby now because she has her two wittle friends. Also I refer to them as "babies" all the time - potentially creepy? But they are very cute and small!

Other: Finally decided on a Halloween costume! I'm going to be a sushi roll to match the theme of 'rock and roll' because my boyfriend is going to be a rock.

That's all for this week! I hope you enjoyed this post. And I hope you have an excellent weekend.
~ Em

    1. Thank you!! I love the feeling you get when you convert to a new layout, so this one is especially fun because I made it :)

Guinea pigs are so fun and easy! Definitely something to look into if you're looking for an entertaining and low-minimal pet. Let me know if you ever wanna chat about guinea pigs :D
