Ah, the last Harry Potter book and mani! I agree with what Kerrie said about this book wholeheartedly - while I don't want to tell you what happens, I feel like there could have been a little bit less camping in the book. The two movies work well, and I'm glad that they split it up otherwise fans would've most likely been really upset at the lack of detail. I was so nervous about what to do and I wasn't sure if I could do the last book/movie, and therefore the whole series, justice - but I'm very pleased with these and excited to share them with you :D
Some of these nails are a little out of order chronologically from the story, but I wanted more room for some of them so I moved them around. Here's a more detailed break down of my nails:
thumb - the Deathly Hallows symbol; I tried to do the actual Elder wand in the middle, but I feel like it ended up looking a little sloppy
pointer - using Orly Goth as the night sky background, the triangle is supposed to be the tent that the trio spend forever camping
middle - the Gryffindor sword at the bottom of the lake in the middle of the forest
ring - Harry and the Dark Lord's wands meeting together in the middle after casting spells at the same time
pinkie - a shard of the two-way mirror that Sirius gave Harry in the Order of the Phoenix, and he thinks he sees Dumbledore's eyes in it
My favorite fingers by far are my ring and pinkie, so you get a pretty macro shot! Woo!
I hope that you've enjoyed this series! It's been really fun and challenging for me; I found this one harder than LOSTathon because Harry Potter is slightly more near and dear to my heart than Lost (yes, sorry) so it was really hard to do nail art that did it justice. Look out for a round-up post of POTTERthon tomorrow! And the second half of my Hunger Games series will be back this week too!!
Don't forget to check out the other ladies doing this *~magical~* challenge with me!
