Lacy Nails with OPI Spiderman My Boyfriend Scales Walls

I had been [im]patiently waiting for the OPI Spiderman polishes to get on Bloom.com, and I just got my order the other day - so I had to try at least one of them ASAP!! Yay! I saw a cute picture of a lacy white dress on teh internetz and felt inspired to do some lacy nails with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. First I tried to paint on a layer of polish and sort of etch away the pattern I wanted (like described in this post by Copy That Copy Cat), but that didn't work very well for me. So instead I did slightly scallop-shaped french tips, and then some abstract dots in an attempt to 'get lacy'.

And here is a quick comparison between OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Sally Hansen Whirlwind White. I would agree with all the other reviews that say this is a much less stark, and therefore more wearable white polish. It's especially weird because it looks so grey in the bottle (to me), but definitely translates to more white on the nail. It seems like a careful two coater, or a possible three coater from my quick experience with it - sort of disappointing that OPI polishes seem to be a little less pigmented lately. Anyone else noticing that? I know there were some similar complaints about the Holland collection.
