The Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge + My Oldest Polish

I was graciously extended an invitation to join in on the weekly Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenges. This week's challenge was to do a manicure with your oldest polish, which is just a fantastic idea! Older polishes need love, too. My very oldest polish (that didn't get tossed or left at my parent's house) is a pineapple scented Bonne Bell Smackers Cosmic Nails gold glitter called Pineapple Blaze from JUNIOR HIGH. I have a teenage nail polish; she's 14 years old and very sparkly! I didn't want to do a manicure with just gold sparkles (especially because I love this polish so much), so I used another one of my older polishes, L'oreal Shock Proof Plum Mystique, from my Mom something like 9 years ago.

I went with a classic glitter accent and glitter tips! Easy and fun. I really disliked the plumy-mauve color until I put on the gold glitter tips. Maroon and gold were my junior high school colors, so maybe that's why I have a love hate relationship with them?

Do you have a hard time getting rid of your older nail polish? I have a hard time getting rid of things in general; I feel like everything can have a use at some point, and I don't want to miss it later! Unfortunately, I'm not really in love with this color. It looks nice, but I'm not super wowed by it. The gold glitter, however, is low and I'm a little sad about it because it's my favorite glitter top coat! I've been on the look out for a similar gold glitter for a little while now, and haven't found a great replacement. The particles are incredibly small and add an awesome sparkle.

see how glowy?

So, what's the oldest polish in YOUR stash? I showed you mine now show me yours!

  1. That's a really pretty gold polish. I never knew Smackers even had a polish line! I've seen their tiny BonBon ones around though. I think my oldest polish is Orly It's Not Me, It's You (: It's my favorite pink!

  2. Thanks! Have you used up your bottle of It's Not Me, It's You yet? The only bottle of polish I've completely used is simple Revlon top coat; not particularly impressive haha
