Envy [my] Half-Moon Mani

I think Half-moon manis are fun and sophistocated at the same time. Dita Von Teese favors them. It's vintage and classic and surprisingly easy to do (especially if you cheat and use some sort of round sticker)!

I had seen this picture of a half-moon mani with a nice deep red over and over, so I wanted to choose a different color. Because my natural moons are inconsistent sizes, yet obviously a different color from the rest of my nail bed, and smaller than I wanted them to be in my overall design, I decided to use a light pink color as my bottom layer.

I don't have any pictures during my painting process, but I used drafting dots (used for architects to keep their paper in one place while drawing). Drafting dots aren't crazy sticky, to they were easy to use and didn't pull up and polish. I've seen a lot of tutorials that use binder ring reinforcements, but I used what I already had on hand.

Manicure Details
Treatment: Sally Hansen Triple Strong, one coat
Base coat: Zoya Get Even Ridge Filling
Top Coat: Zoya Armor + Zoya Fast Drops

Colors Used
Moon section: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Swift Strawberry, one coat
Contrasting color: Zoya Envy, one coat

This was my first time using Zoya Envy, and it's maybe my favorite creamy green so far. I thought it covered really well in just one coat, and I liked that one coat was dark green, but not so dark it looked black. In the above pictures I've been wearing my mani for a week (*gasp*), but I think it looks like it's held up really well (minus the obvious and expected tip wear and growth by the cuticle). This is also my second manicure using the Zoya Color Lock system, which has been really great at extending the life of my Zoya manicures (a SOLID WEEK without chips?!? Come on!!!). I got my Color Lock system in a promotion about a month ago, along with the Sunshine collection. Zoya is really awesome and rewarding to their customers; lots of promotions and feedback on social networks like Facebook and Twitter :)

Just remember that if you use Zoya nail polish, you can't use most quick-drying top coats (especially not Seche Vite) because Zoya is a 4-free formula!

So now I want to know, have you ever done a half-moon manicure? Do you like this look? Have you tried Zoya nail polish, and do you like it as much as I do? Tell me in the comments!
